Welcome to St. Sarah's!

St. Sarah's Parish is dedicated to the tradition of St. John the beloved disciple of Jesus, rooted in the heritage of St. John the Baptist and guided by direct, experiential contact with the Divine. As an esoteric, Gnostic Christian communion we draw inspiration from the wisdom of Judaism, the Christian New Testament, Alexandrian Hermeticism, and Gnostic Scriptures.

St. Sarah's is the Boston Parish of the Apostolic Johannite Church, which traces its origins from the 2nd century "Secret Church of John" through the Catholic mystics and esoteric orders of the middle ages to the Gnostic Restoration of 19th century France. Our parish seeks to explore esoteric, Gnostic Christianity, pursuing gnosis through shared sacraments, communal prayer and the study of history, philosophy and scripture, including the Nag Hammadi Library. If you are interested in learning more about this esoteric Gnostic Christian tradition please join us. We meet the second Saturday of every month at 5pm at The Theosophical Society in Arlington, MA. Please see our Services page for more details.

We welcome anyone interested in pursuing their personal spiritual journey in community with others. We don't require that you hold a particular set of beliefs or that you are a particular kind of person. On the contrary, we are working to build a vibrant and diverse community - bonded by shared practice and mutual loving regard. Peace to you in the light of gnosis.
